how to stay inspired In bloging

How to stay inspired in blogging.

how to stay inspired In blogingSo, a bit ago I was sent some pieces from a company called ROSEGAL, you may have heard of them. They sell super affordable clothes and have a ton of choices to pick at super low prices. I was sent the White Cocktail dress, a foundation brush, and an embroidered belt. I picked these things based on the appearance as one would. And I will review them honestly. When I got the items after a couple of weeks, it takes a bit due to where it is shipped from and customs. I, at first was oohing and ahhing over the things in the bags. Why not they looked good. The foundation brush was very instagramable and the belt was super trendy. The white cocktail dress, while beautiful was the challenge. When, I got the items I figured shoot the clothes with forest as background. No, I was not happy with the pictures. I wrote up a blog post that was so generic that I was actually cringing when I reread it for proofreading purposes. DELETE.

Then, I tried again to shoot the outfit, and used different shoes and background similar. NO, nothing was giving that blogger vibe that I usually get when working on a project. There was nothing to write, I had a massive blogger block. A massive lack of inspiration, which normally doesn’t happen. I always find inspo in SOMETHING, even if it is a shoe lace. But, I got nothing.

So, what do you do in a time like that? Do you scrap everything and throw your hands up with the uncanny DONE! No, you take a step back and rethink things. As a fashion blogger one might think how do you find inspiration in clothes? Well, the thing is there is inspiration everywhere. The question is, how to stay inspired in blogging? That, that right there is the thing.

So, here is what I did to get out of that funk. I took my ass to the beach. For a mental break. I took a few days off blogging, and went to the beach 30mins away. You don’t need to go to the beach for that inspo, you can go on a walk somewhere new. You can drive around and find a new place to shoot pictures. I did that recently and wow it did me good! Screw the weird looks. It worked. I got inspired and found some great places for some epic outfit pictures!!! YES!

OK, back to the beach. I was getting ready to go to the beach and saw the dress hanging in my closet. And thought, maybe I can make it work. Let me try.

short reception wedding gownI was happy I took the dress to the beach. I was inspired to do some pictures here. And my mother and I got some great shots while my hubby, dad, and son played in the ocean. Thinking back on this dress and lack of inspo could be a few things, I thought when I picked the dress it would be a tad more casual. It wasn’t a taffeta skirt and sheer lace top. NOPE. It looks like a cheap wedding dress if I am being honest. Pretty, yes, practical? NO. I mean not practical for me anyways. I was expecting the top to be lined, as in the picture on Rosegal it certainly looked lined.

I was happy with the bottom the high low bottom was pretty and definitely makes a statement. The lace is pretty, but still NOT LINED. Would I recommend this dress from Rosegal? Umm…maybe? I probably would more so if the top was lined. I was wearing my bikini top under it.

formal gownSee? The back is really beautiful. Even if the front was lined and the back not, I would be OK with that. OK, I am obsessing a bit over that.

Rosegal white cocktail dress The pictures look amazing and I am glad I took the step back and got my inspiration back. It would have been a disservice to the client and myself to not give a post my all.

I think it’s good to take time out. I have to say the beach is the perfect place to get inspiration. Good idea to make the photos on the beach and the dress is so lovely!

Very honest, I like that. I was thinking of making the dress a bit more boho. Wearing boots with it, denim jacket, lots of beads! Then it would be a great dress in my opinion.

Thank you! That was my thoughts too, with some more boho sandals, but when I got the dress, I realized just how “formal” it was. Really formal almost wedding dress like. Cheap wedding dress, lol.
