Forever 21 shirt and maxi skirt sunoke summer style

Simple Summer style the Forever21 marigold maxi skirt.

Forever 21 shirt and maxi skirt sunoke summer styleWhen I first walked into Forever 21 a few weeks ago on my mommy me day, I saw this skirt while shopping for my Mint green skirt from Forever 21’s contemporary line. I knew I just had to try it on, the high slit, the pleats, the color(GASP it isn’t black and white!), and the buckle detail. This skirt was perfect, because with that sky high slit there are SHORTS under that skirt! SHORTS I say! For a maxi like this I believe it is a must, because if the wind blows, and it will here your butt wont be hanging all out! You will have a great pair of shorts on! This is what I call a pseudo maxi, as it isn’t fully a skirt, but it isn’t a short either, it is in that regard a skort.. And that friends is ok. OK enough that I want to take my black skirt with the star print and make shorts for it! Because wow, when the wind blows it all goes up! Up I say.

marigold colored skirt and white topI knew what shoes I was going to wear with the maxi skirt. Knew exactly that it would be my gladiators. These shoes give that right kind of drama with this outfit and people love these shoes, which are not available anymore, but I shall link to what I feel is close. They are a great shoe and make me feel like a strong bad ass kind of woman. They definitely call for attention! These shoes are also really comfy too, and when I got them a great price!

styling a maxi skirt for summerThis maxi skirt is the best kind of drama and the only drama you need in your life! Am I right? YES! It is perfect! A perfect combination. And you could totally glam this up for a night out!

JUSTFAB HATThe hat says “out of the office.” And the hat is by JUSTFAB. Let me be honest. I had an idea of where I wanted to shoot this. I had it all planned out in my head. And the night before I shot this I said to myself in a self monologue I said “self, go do blog photos before hubby wakes up and let him sleep in while you and the wee lad go an dork around, OK self?” And Gandalf save me from myself, because that is totally what did not happen! Hubby woke up first! And he let me sleep in. OR tried to before our dog cam in and barked at me until I got up and then the cat attacked him for getting to close to the bed. SO I got up! Needless to say this shoot didn’t go as planned at all. And YAY my face was like OH you want flawless skin, PSYCHE! No…..yeah.

Everyone look at my dog’s fluffy bottom.

Life, as I have learned in the past few years is NEVER EVER planned. And if your life goes as planned then wow, I tip my over sized hat to you. Having a child like I do, really changes your perception of things. You learn to go with the flow, know that you are only human and will have bad days too. These past few weeks have been super challenging for us, he has had a rough few weeks the little has. And I think it is boredom and he cant talk much so he gets frustrated. And my lack of sleep doesn’t help matters as my fuze gets cut with every night of no sleep. And I.Feel.Awful.

Sometimes going with the flow doesn’t always work. Especially with 3 hours or less of sleep between 3 to 4 days and no coffee. But, It will be alright. We will be alright, and once Florida’s weather decided what the Hell it is going to do we will be even more OK, and we will run to the beach.
