Makeup Monday, coconut oil and healthy hair?

Hello there friends!!! Happy Monday!!! Today I decided to do some much needed spring cleaning. And the first thing was to clean the oven. OH MY GOD. It is so smokey in the house that my son and I are confined to the screened porch. I am thanking God that today is a nice spring like day and not a overly hot summerish day.  I am cleaning the oven because something got on the bottom of my new oven and it was making things smokey when you cooked. I would really like to get back in the house and mop the floors but that will have to wait. I am not in the mood to be in that.

Today is make up Monday here on the ole bloggeroo..but instead of talking about that I want to talk about my hair journey. I as I may have stated before am trying to get my hair in to shape. And recently, well actually longer than that. I saw on Pinterest,my passion, pins for coconut oil as a hair treatment. AND I have to say in the few weeks I have been doing it, it has made a huge difference. HUGE! My hair is more silky and shiny. It also doesn’t frizz as much. I do a full on hair mask 1 time a week and then whenever I wash my hair I use it before I shower. For me, I think this is one of the best things I have done for my locks. My hair gets abused, what with the coloring and heat tools. I needed a pick me up and this all natural way is the best so far.

I use Viva Labs organic coconut oil and bought it really cheap on Amazon.  It is worth every penny of the $16.99. I also use a coconut milk shampoo and conditioner. As well as Argon oil.wpid-wp-1425319158976.jpeg

So, what I do is I take a a small hand full or enough to manage as this stuff is solid when you start out. Then I rub it in my hands. The heat from your hands make it liquify, I then apply to the ends of my hair. Until all of my hair is saturated. I then put my hair up into a bun on the top of my head and go about my day. Usually cleaning and chasing after my 2 year old.Wordless Wednesday is a perfect day for this. Then by a tiny child’s bed time I go and wash it out. It can take 2 shampoos and I still condition after. I let my hair air dry then. The results are just amazing. Try it!!!
