H&M Swimwear finding the right suit.

BEauch dey

Hi there friends! Happy days ahead. Summer is getting closer and closer for us. And that means swimwear, beaches, pools, bbq, more bbq, fireworks, and long days. And HOT FREAKING WEATHER. Which is why I am glad the beach is not too far from me. Because we can beat the heat in the summer with some ocean water and windy beach. Today, on the blog I wanted to talk about swimwear and finding a swim suit that works. So, this is something I really haven’t talked about. I have mentioned my dressing room blunders with shorts and such but what about swimwear? Well, let us talk about it.

ANd my inner monologue.

h&M swimsuit and f21 vestSo, last week I went into Target with the goal of finding a suit that fits me and my body. (i may be littlish, but I do have my own issues, loose skin from having my little 4yrs ago. stretchmarks….etc.) Anyways, I went in to buy a suit.I told myself”SELF get the suit try it ON, and then go from there.Do not are on a mission.”  I rarely strike out at Target, but this time boy did I ever. I wanted a 2 piece suit. Why? Well, when in the beachwater near the shoreline SAND BUILDS UP on the butt and it looks like you crapped yourself if the sand gets trapped. I had an expensive Spanx suit that that happened to me. WOW. So, I picked out a couple of suits. And Target was having more “bra” sized tops. I grabbed the DD and the D top because that is what I am. And off to the fiting room I went.

HOLY mother of MORDOR….the top was huge on me. I am not big around the ribs, but the cupsize on smaller sizes are so small that the other “stuff” the “girls” wont fit. I mean At all. SO, I got disappointed and left. Normally I buy my suits with Victoria Secret, as I get rewards points and also they fit better. At least the 2 piece do. I was standing there in the mirror saddened, disappointed, irritated, etc. And I argued with myself over self esteem issues while in the fitting room.

SO, I went to H&M with my little after looking at their suits online. And saw they do sizing that way too. And so, I went I bought and WOW I conquered. I found a suit with support, a D cup, adjustable straps as well as band sizes, and matching bottoms, that were not too small and not too big! WOW~ SCORE! H&M shocked me, the suit was amazing. And I have gotten a lot of compliments. If fits better than my Beach Bunny suit. (that mononoke suit fits good in some spots and not so good elsewhere)

Mainly the top.

Anyways… I hate the “one size” fits most size. Swim wear I think is harder to fit, by buying online. It is a thing you kinda need to go in the store for. I made that mistake with the Beach Bunny suit. So, that is why you will not see affiliate links for suits in the post today. WHOA? Yes, because unless you really know the sizing, you should try the suit on. And no two swimsuits are the same. Even by the same brand. I will never buy online for a suit again. I would rather share cute beach bags to take with you via shopping links than swim suits. Because you need to try them on, especially for harder to find sizes. Like mine. I am not lucky enough to wear a “one size fits all” kind of suit. It is not long enough for me, or the bra part too small, or the bottoms don’t fit right. Just no. No no no no. NO.

SO, that is my suit advice, try them on.I will from now on! Actually there may be one for littles, for suits. But littles are easier to shop for. Arent they.

New Smyrna

So, we went to the beach as a big old family. And had so much fun! My little was a happy little fishie and had, I think, the most fun! He was laughing and smiling the whole day. until we left then not so happy.

The children's placeMy little was wearing his Children’s Place swimset, but we got him a new set by Cat and Jack. He loves the whales on it.

Loves the beach.

THank you so much Molly! I was a bit on the fence posting this one, but I had to post it because I wanted to talk about how hard it can be to buy swimwear.

I’m right there with you in the swimwear department! (Seriously, I feel that while behind larger is more praised in society few people actually make clothes that fit them right.) I’ll have to check by H&M sometime to see.

It is a serious pain! swimwear companies just do not get it. Buying swimwear should give somene a mental nervous breakdown, but it does! It so does! We all have key things we keep in mind when buying suits for our bodies and sometimes the suit makers just do not translate that. But H&M kind of hit the mark this time.

You chose well, the bikini and cover up looks great! I know what you mean about sand getting trapped – my daughter has ruined a few swimsuits playing on the shoreline. So annoying! I always buy bikinis as separate tops and bottoms so I can choose my bra size, otherwise they don’t fit properly.

Thakn you so much Emma, it is so annoying when the sand gets in there hahha. I love that more companies are doing it by bra size now
