Loreal True MAtch lumi cushion

The beauty review: Loreal True match Lumi Cushion

Hi there friends! It’s time for another beauty review! Today we are discussing the Loreal True Match Lumi cushion. And after last weeks debacle with Redken’s product(you can read that lovely review here) I figured it is time for makeup. I have been seeing a lot of bloggers talking about this product or products like it. And when I got some coupons for this Loreal Lumi Cushion thing in the paper as well as a CVS reward buck I decided to get my bum to CVS and get one. As well as get more rewards to a next purchase. YAY! FOR SCIENCE!  And before I say any more about that the Redken was awful In my opinion.

Ok back to our regular post……. Loreal.

Loreal True MAtch lumi cushionIt comes in this little compact with a nice gold lid. Fancy fancy! This little compact of spongey foundation delight has a mirror, a sponge pad , and the sponge immersed in foundation. Ok good. It says it has buildable coverage. And is supposed to give a luminous glow.

Loreal True Match Lumi CushionSo let us get right down to the nitty gritty. I have a problem with the applicator. The “sponge” you smash into the other “sponge” is flimsy. In commercials they make it look so easy and smooth. It doesn’t have a lot of control and moved around a bit. But for the sake of science I used the applicator only for this application.

And not knowing exactly what the consistency would be here, I went ahead and used the thick stuff by Sonia Kashuk . And I wore this all day.  When using it with a concealer first it trapped the concealer in spots. Uh oh. and As I said before I didn’t like the applicator. You may end up just using a foundation brush or sponge.

Loreal True Match Lumi CushionDid it last? Mmmmmmm yeah….but I needed to reapply. Which if you are wearing blush may be an issue. OR if you are a contour queen it will be an issue. As the stuff is wet and such. Now this is not as good as my Model and Co foundation in coverage. That stuff lasts and you have to remove it with a chisel. But, for a drugstore item not bad. You definitely want to exfoliate before use. It isn’t a bad little compact. I may have to use it a few times to really see how I feel about it. It does give luminous skin though!

Do I think this is just a hype product? See, I am not sure. Some times these things are and then sometimes they stick around.  It kind of reminds me of something else.  There was once a vibrating loose powder from Lancôme that I got years ago, there was also a vibrating Definicils mascara. Why was it necessary? It wasn’t. Did it do anything? Not really, and it was no better than Dual Finish. Infact, it was not as good. Did it stick around. NOPE. Why? People weren’t buying and it was too gimmicky, I think ,in the end.

So, overall if you are on a budget and have the coupons this will be a great thing to try. Or even if you are not on one. The coupons I had made it more worth it for me to try Loreal True Match lumi.
