The 80’s power suit updated. Outfit 1.

Power suits became all the rage for women in the 80’s and in the 90’s . Women wear getting inspired by the masculinity of a good suit and so took it to Venus territory. Massive shoulder pads boxy looks, but the feminine touch of a lace body suit or teddy under the jacket. As well as the menswear inspired shirts.

Today the power suit is still running full force, just with out the massive shoulders, boxier cuts and some tiny waisted silhouette.
The powersuits today are more fitted. More polished and refined. Colorful and still just as bold. And styling them is a lot of fun!

One of the trends right now is wearing a bralette under the suit jacket. In summer this is nice because it is less restrictive and hot. It is a look, and confidence is key here. You know how Karen’s can be. Gasp she is showing tum!

Fun story, when I was out trying to shoot these pictures of this Sanctuary suit set, I chose a street that is never ever busy. Not many cars come down it, and it has the most beautiful orange flowers. I love shooting here. But, this day, wow, a lot of people using the road here. Like why? Of all the days, that was the day and time 800(exaggeration) cars went down it! Ugh. So, my pictures were not up to my normal standard.

I felt like I had to rush because of the weird amount of people going down this pretty obscure side street.
At least I got something right?

shop my look! Some items are similar.

Or rent the suit from rent the runway!
