Take a deep breath

Hi there friends! I have quite the post for you. I love trying new skin care products! And am always on the hunt for new stuff to share! Recently I ordered a new set from Sephora by Philosophy called Take a deep breath.  I wanted to give it a week before writing a review on this product.

When I opened my Sephora box, I saw the clean boxes with the products philosophy on them. I ordered a day lotion with spf 30 and a gel cream moisturizer for night. It is more gel like than a heavy cream. Really good for those who have oily combo skin. Or if you do not like a heavy moisturizer. Dry skin, you need more moisture. This may not be enough for you.

The bottles have the same detail on them as the box.

Let’s look at the Take a deep breath broad spectrum SPF 30 oil free oxygen moisturizer.( say that three times fast)

“philosophy’s the beauty of waking up each day in the renewal, what a new day does for the spirit, oxygen does for the skin. it’s time to give your skin a breath of fresh air and sun protection for a revitalized healthy looking glow.”

This moisturizer is great for the day because; it is lightweight. And hydrates the skin as well as having that nice SPF 30.  It doesn’t leave you feeling the “greasy feel” Full of antioxidants which help defend and revitalize your skin from environmental factors.  I used it after cleansing my skin with my Chanel cleanser and Confort Lotion, aka toner.

On initial use I noticed a HUGE difference. And love the fact it isn’t greasy. My skin feels great and makeup sits well on it. It is a bit on the runny side but bear in mind it is a lotion. A little goes a long way. It keeps getting away from me, I end up with too much. It says on the box to apply before sun exposure. And then  re -apply every 2 hours. I think if you are outdoors messing about or swimming yeah sure. But if you are like me and vampiric then probably not. (Joke, I do go outside. Just lately it has been too hot.) There is no smell really. It has a scent let’s say a scent that is reminiscent of Clinique products.

Next up take a deep breath energizing  oxygen gel cream moisturizer.

“philosophy:  environmental factors as sun, smog, and pollution can cloud a complextion. Revitalize your spirit and your skin with a quiet moment(HA!) and a deep breath.”

do you feel energized?

This is an oil free gel based moisturizer with anti oxidants. Helps protect and revitalize the skin with antioxidants. This is great for oily combo to oily skin. It has no smell again like the Clinique stuff and gets absorbed quick. No greasy feel. No fragrance. I felt like my skin was happy as a clam after one use. Great moisturizer. It is a gel so it isn’t really thick. It has a runnier texture. And that is due to it being a gel. Still it is a great moisturizer, so far. 1 week use. I like that when I get up in the morning my face doesn’t feel like a sopping grease ball, as is the case with some heavier moisturizers. But,this moisturizer may not have enough oomph for drier skin or dry combo skin. May want to get something a bit more substantial. But, for those with oilier complexions this will be good for you.

So cost?

The Take a deep breath lotion is $36

The Take a deep breath gel cream is $37

Cheaper than Clinique and reminds me of their Superdefense moisturizers. Will I purchase again??  More than likely. Kind of want to try  Renewed Hope in a Jar next.

Did you really think I could go without bringing back Yzma and Kronk? Nope.

I’m ashamed to admit I was won over as soon as I saw the light, milky green colours of the products – they seem so refreshing! I’m pleased you were happy with them and I look forward to your future review of the Renewed Hope in a Jar if you choose to add that one to your collection as well 🙂 have a lovely week!

They sound like great products! I hate it when lotions and moisturizers make my skin feel so greasy!

They really are! Your skin feels great afterwards and refreshed. Not greasy or oily. Which is great. 🙂
