Sunday funday ,costume prep, and sweet potato fries

Hi hi! Hope you are all having a grand and marvelous Sunday! I am having not too shabby of a day. I got quite a bit of stuff done today! Yay! And I have ,as you know been working on my Elsa costume(again). After last year, I decided to change some stuff. The pattern did not account for certain things when we made it last year. So, being the ever creative and OCD, I went back and fixed it. I took off the horrible mess of a over lay. And made it more movement friendly.

Elsa costume progress

I started out like this and the went back and sewed it all up. Got to love measuring as you go.

This is where we are now. Now the question I asked some friends was should I add sleeves. She has them. But, the reply was no it is Florida, and it is hot!! So should I go all Cinderella and keep the sleeves off or add them back.

I am also adding sequins and beading by hand! Believe it or not it is relaxing for me. It is just good for me I guess. Yep. I can not wait to show off the end result.

Now on to something completely different.

So, I have found a delicious way to eat sweet potatoes and get the pumpkin spice craving going. And my test subject, FOR SCIENCE, was my tiny child. I love sweet potato fries and this is just different.

preheat the oven to 385-400 degrees.

Peel and cut the potato goodness until they are fry shaped

Sweet potato

Yummy. OK, so here is where some may go OH NO! You need butter. Not that margarine buttery stuff. The real stuff. The sweet cream unsalted kind. Yes. What you will do is take a teeny amount and spread it on both sides of each fry. It will A.) keep it from sticking to the cookie sheet b.) make it not dry out and c.) flavor! Paula Dean be proud!

Then take Pumkpin pie seasoning. It comes in a pre done container and is relatively cheap. You can get coupons for the stuff many times. I like Spice Island.

Sprinkle as little or as much as you want on each fry. Β Then this last bit is totally optional. You can take sugar or Splenda and sprinkle the tiniest amount on each fry. Not a lot. You really don’t need a lot.

Bake until golden. They do not take long to cook and kids love it! Mine is really picky but he love these!

Mmmm so good and it makes the house smell like pie!

Ahhhhh fall. These would make an excellent snack too. Of course you could cut out the butter and sub something else. But the butter does work best and you only need a tiny amount!

This is my Sunday! πŸ™‚

and for you lovers of my Pinspiration posts one will be up on the blog Wednesday!!!

They are really good. And you can toss them in olive oil and add Montreal steak seasoning to make them savory! πŸ™‚
