Hi friends, if you saw yesterday’s post here you would have seen that I am a bit under the weather. I have the worst cold or flu thing going on. Yuck. I have a new outfit to post and I can not seem to peel myself off the couch or where ever I seem to be laying around at. My tiny child is also a ball of grumpy fun. YAY. And I am bored on top of that. Joy.
So what to do? Maybe make something? Which is what I did. You know those silly paint swatches from Lowes? I noticed my son liked them and carries them around and shows what color they are. He likes to hold it up and go “RED” for red and so on. SO, what if we could make those into color flash cards? And how?
I figured it out.
Laminate them. And no you do not need some fancy pants laminator. Or laminate sheets. You just need packing tape. Clear packing tape.
Take the tape and cute a big piece. You will trim it later. And place on one side. Flip over and do it to the other side. Then with scissors cut off the excess. DONE.
Be sure to press and seal the edges. The picture above is blurry because a tiny person wanted what I had in my hands.
It is simple and fun. And CHEAP. This would be great for anyone needing flash cards for a daycare or for school. The kids can mess them up(if they can) and no one will feel they lost some money. As the paint cards are free and all you need is tape which can be purchased even at the dollar store. The kids can make this with you and they can give them to their teachers!
I think I am going to take the swatches I have around the house and make a matching game with them since I have doubles. I always grab two. I loose things so easily. I will cut the little squares out and follow the same laminating process. Fun times will be had!!! What do you think?
Now I am off to go take more Sudafed and make some tea!
