The past couple of days I haven’t posted on the ole bloggeroo. One my little one has been under the weather. And two I have been working on a really awesome project which I am so excited to share soon! I can not wait! Let’s just say it will be a marvelous give away! Today’s post though lets talk about that for WHAT I WORE WEDNESDAY!
This outfit was one that when I put it on originally I thought it was cute. I like the skirt because I am weird and love things like this SHEIN maxi. It has stars on it and that is so cute. We all know I love chiffon and flowy skirts. THis was no exception. But the thing was I almost didn’t post this outift. I have been tossing the idea around. Why not? Why not show the skirt? Why be so self conscious? Well, the answer is simple. It had to do with being at the mall and the mean girl mentality. At my age you wouldn’t think it would matter any more. The truth is I am very sensitive and every outfit I pick out I go over with a fine tooth comb. Even if it is a stay at home doing nothing outfit. I will sit and argue with myself whether it is a Lord of the Rings shirt day, a Harry Potter shirt day, or a Marvel day. These things matter. Weird I know. Anyway, while at the mall and my son was playing I people watch. Not being rude just looking around. I take inspo from EVERYTHING! I am a fashion blogger and curious by nature. I also may look like I am staring but sometimes my eyesight is bad and so squinting. Anyways. I got the most “awesome” looks. My son was playing and I got the “stare down” over this or maybe over the fact he was eating.
I would catch them staring every now and then. And when I would they would look away. But, I would just go back to watching my little one. However, little things like that make you uncomfortable sometimes. WAs it the slit in the skirt? I had adjusted that so the slit wouldn’t open ALL the way. I sewed a bit a little above my knee. That was after the pictures. Because I took my dog out and WIND made me feel like I would be Gone with the wind. HI LEGS!

We didn’t need this but this is how I felt. HAHAH Yzma makes another appearance.
I liked the outfit initially when I put it on. Was confident initially. THe thing I am trying to get across here ladies and gents is CONFIDENCE and SPARKLE. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT let anyone take your sparkle away. Go get that faerie dust back and get your shine on! You are worth it! Even something stupid silly like that, thinking about it now. Who is to say they were being “mean girls” When they could have just been admiring the skirt or shirt because it is funny. Or it could have been the other. Even still, why should that matter? Right? I guess we all have our off days. But, I got my sparkle back, although today I am covered in snot and toddler meds. GO MOTHERHOOD!ย SO today’s What I Wore Wednesday is This skirt I boughtย from SHEIN and the shirt I received from Dresslink for review. It is a great skirt and I love it. I could see leaving the slit alone and wearing it to the beach with a cute high neck bikini top. Yup!
The slit was a bit high but when just standing and no wind it isn’t a problem. However wind would be an enemy outside of the beach. SO, I just did a quick stitch further down a bit above the knee.
What do you think of this outfit? Some of the pictures were a bit blurry thanks to a cat attacking the tripod.

Thank you so much ashley!
Love that tee and the pretty skirt! Such a cute, simple look!
Thank you cara!!! ๐
First, I’m glad everything is okay. I was wondering where you were! ;p
Personally, I think you have NOTHING to be self-conscience about. You have a great eye for style and I love how you will take different items and make them your own. It just works! ;). Don’t assume you were getting looks because of something negative – they were probably admiring YOU and your style and your lovely little boy. I’ll often people-watch and wonder how other women can seemingly have it all together.
And – I’m sorry – but the hair just makes the outfit! So fabulous!
Please don’t ever doubt yourself. You are wonderful just the way you are!
Yeah everything is fine. Other than my poor tiny child is all snotty. Poor kid. Thank you so very much Molly for you kind and and awesome words. You are so right. About the hair too ๐
I’m loving the star skirt paired with the tee. You look great! I hope your little one is feeling better.
