If you would have asked me a year or two ago if I liked the whole “ombre trend” I would have said no. NO way not on your Nelly. But, a few years later when it’s hype has slowed down I found myself liking it. If only just a little bit. And then I found this casual maxi dresses from ROSEGAL and I knew I needed it. I loved the blues, the Elsa from Disney’s Frozen blues. SO, I bought the dress, after all I am looking for pieces to last this pregnancy and the while after. This dress does that and for a really affordable price.
The shiny fabric is stretchy and the sides are bunched up a bit like you see on a lot of maternity wear. This gives room for that belly to grow. And I am not sure if that was the intent on this dress initially, or if just for that Grecian vibe. But, for me it works. With this since I am pregnant I ordered a size up, from a small to medium. I wanted to give myself room for now, later, and after pregnancy.
This casual maxi dress is super flattering, even with this growing belly. It is a really comfy dress. but as with most things of this type of stretchy fabric. It is a bit see through. So if that bothers you a slip can be worn. I have a bodycon slip that I wear in instances like this but with it being so freakishly hot I opted out of that. And even though my bra is black and such you can’t see it.
Styling the dress and shoot.
For this shoot I wanted a more Midsummers night or eve feeling. So, I edited the photos in GIMP2 first(blemishes) and then back on to VSCO cam for the filter I wanted. The picture above is to show the actual colors. This dress can be styled in so many ways. I picked for jewelry a necklace that is very boho tribal. The tassels are very in trend still and I love it. For my makeup I kept it simple with my Urban Decay heat palette and Tarte lips .I’ll make a scrolling collage of my makeup too. I use natural lighting as I take these photos myself with just SAM(tripod) .OH and before I forget the preset filter for this shot on VSCO cam is P5
