Blogging with kids

If you have been following my instagram for a while you may have seen that my little one has been home sick a bit this school year, infections in the ear, the lungs, the sinuses, the flu, the list goes on and on. And while I love having him home, he is the most snuggly kid ever, I never tend to get much done when he and his brother are in the house together. Why? Well, one of them wakes the other from his naps! And the baby doesn’t want a nap when brother is home due to he may miss something. Me? I just want a minute to myself!

The thing about blogging with kids is they always want to be in the photos. This little guy here didn’t even want to be in his pack n play so mama could get some photos outside, he was like nope HOLD ME AND TAKE MY PIC MOM! #forthegram There is always a baby on the hip, a big boy in the view or in the way photobombing epically. There is never a dull moment, and never a shot of mom by herself. Not that that is a bad thing, my kids are cute as hell. But, when you are trying despartely to showcase a product sent to you, you kind of want them to mind their own business for at least a minute, or two, or three.

I try my best to include them, I try my best to cater to their hammy needs as well as get some work done. The thing is the more sponsored posts, the harder it may get to balance the two. Hey look at my watch but their is a baby eating it may not fly. And flat lays have a cat, or a baby, or a big boy foot in them. Never fails.

That being said, having my munchkins with me can be a blessing too, when I am taking photos for the blog. They make things a bit less awkward for me, and I have someone to talk to. Blogging alone can be lonely, but also can be weird. They make it easier in that sense, but also can be tricky. So how to take pictures with them when out and about? A tripod and some quick thinking. My oldest can elope, he is autistic and so that makes it a bit more difficult. If I can I will get him in the picture, and hold on to him tightly.

But, when you have kids, sometimes the only blogging options are blog at night, shoot photos quick at home, and then pray you can get a minute of peace to edit pictures. Unfortunately that can means something else goes on the back burner. Dishes, laundry, vacuuming, or other home chores can be set aside so I can get something done for me. Something that can help pay bills, so the job is important. Finding that balance is what can be tricky, housework needs doing, but also those sponsored contents are not going to write themselves. And somewhere in there I need to make food for everyone. It is a circus for sure, and the balancing act is hard, and there are no sparkly costumes.

What you say is true. I can relate and who knew! My son was sick last week too and though it eased some things with him being at home, it meant somethings else didn’t get done. I don’t think there’s a balance. I suppose we all just need to feel better with what we do get done and what we don’t. Love your printed pants and those red sandals you are wearing are beautiful! Hang in there and happy Monday!

Something always has to give! If it means the laundry is a day later then ok, at least i can get one thing done for me and my own sanity. Hahah

Popping in from the link up. I can totally relate! My kids are 3 and 6 now so it’s getting a little easier…but they still often want to be in the picture or are having a meltdown while I’m trying to do my pictures. I blog and edit pics after they go to bed at night which is hard because I’m pooped by the time they go to bed lol! I am sure as the kids get older it will get easier and easier to find time for the blog 🙂 xx

Can I get an AMEN?! It can be so hard sometimes! I thought I would have more time with my oldest at school but I definitely do not. I think my lovely family thinks that since I stay at home now I can pick up and organize all their things now. Um no! I really enjoyed reading this post! Thanks for sharing and all your honesty!
